Mahogany Victorian Writing Slope
This mahogany writing slope was manufactured in the 1880s during the late victorian era. The box measurers 40w x 23d x 13h with brass fittings and hinges. The leather writing surface is original, showing its age and wear from the endless letters having been written over the years on this leather surface. There is a space under the writing surface for spare paper, a glass inkwell and various compartments for ink, pens, quills etc. There are signs of wear associated with its age, but in general it all blends in well and is a beautiful piece.
